Ageing Australia CEO Tom Symondson has been across the media this week, responding to the Productivity Commission report and hospital funding decisions.
On ABC Radio, he warned “the longer an older person has to wait for care, the higher their needs become.”
Speaking to The Australian, Ageing Australia also criticised the national cabinet outcome, with Mr Symondson saying the absence of a previously flagged $2 billion for aged care meant “a rare opportunity… to improve outcomes for the thousands of older Australians stuck in hospital for extended periods has been missed.”
