The hydrotherapy pool at Palmerston Regional Hospital has been closed to the public, with only inpatients and outpatients permitted to use the facility.
A disability advocate who was a key driver behind the pool’s inception says other local alternatives aren’t suitable.
NT Health says there are “a range of other services that provide heated pools and rehabilitation swimming areas” locally.
AdvocateNT is absolutely alarmed by this unexplained action against those with disabilities and seniors. Our government and senior support organisation need to come forward and support those who require access to this important facility urgently.
