The above bus stop (#103) at Stuart Park is ridiculous, it does not meet even basic accessibility compliance requirements, it has no shelter from the harsh tropical weather, no seating or allocated space for those with mobility issues or seniors.
It is located in the heart of an area that includes a medical centre, diagnostics, X-ray Services, coffee and food shops etc.
This bus stop services the following routes:
Route 10
– Casuarina – via Stuart Park, Parap, Ludmilla, Rapid Ck, Alawa
Route 5 – Darwin to Casuarina – via Winnelie, Berrimah, Marrara, Moil
Route 7 – Loop Darwin to Darwin via Stuart Park, Bayview
Route 8 – Darwin to Palmerston – via Winnellie , Berrimah, Pinelands
Route OL1 – Orbital Darwin,Casuarina, Darwin Semi-Express
Route OL2 – Orbital Darwin, Palmerton, Casuarina , Darwin Semi-Express
Accessibility means designing products, services, or environments so everyone can use and understand them, regardless of their abilities or access needs. It removes barriers, ensuring people with †disabilities can participate equally, independently, and with equivalent ease of use.
† Includes older people, mobility, vision and age-related issues.
