If you have become a target of bullying by a manager the reasons often are related to:

  • You are a valuable asset to the company, experience, reliability, liked by colleagues and customers and;
  • are a threat to the bully who may be following the corporate psychopath route to climb the corporate ladder, claim credit for your work.
  • Workers’ compensation claims
  • Post traumatic stress disorders of workers.
  • Lost productivity
  • Absenteeism

Workplace BullyingIn these environments (often remote from a head office) the bully needs to shine to seek praise from their management, it’s easy for them to create chaos to that makes them look like stars, human resource departments may praise the bully for identifying the toxic environment that the bully actually created.

The more the bullies’ managers praise them the more chaos they create, they then work on getting the team members that have been reliable, experienced and dedicated in their roles removed from the company.

In many cases the victim has no idea that the bully has implemented a plan to protect themselves.

In a series of posts at AdvocateNT, we will present bullying scenarios which are based on actual events.
